Life Changes

Its nice to see my blog getting regular views again; makes me incredibly happy. On my days that I'm not on here and you want to see the more everyday blogging I do feel free to check out my Insta; @HelloGeeg.
I update it fairly regularly and it's more of a personal insight into my life! Anyway thats not what I wanted to blog about today so back to being on topic!!!

Seeing as I start work in about two months; I decided now was the time to get myself together, re do my hair, start revamping my wardrobe so I can look more adult; turning twenty-one is catching up with me fast and I want to be able to look as professional, yet chic as I possibly can!

Hair
Well I've been known o mess around with my hair, grow it long then crop it short, dye it red then bright blonde (including that awkward bright ginger stage that no toner could ever fix) however this year I want to give my hair a bit of break and avoid the bleach as much as I can! I often get caught in the tragic cycle of being blonde all summer and brunette all winter! However i think i want to funk it up a little bit just before I start work and have found the colour I like!

Auburn is so multi-dimensional, looks amazing when it is in the sun and is relatively low maintenance with my natural dark hair! In terms of cut, i'm aiming to grow my hair out again currently, but it needs a good cut to get rid of my leftover bleached locks and split ends!

Clothes
Okay I admit, i don't exactly have money falling from the sky at the moment, however, I can afford to do buy myself a staple item for a my wardrobe every once in a while. Whilst I do not have enough clothes (not even sarcasm, I barely wear half of what I own) I am aiming at maturing my wardrobe a little bit in the coming month, and I started by reliving the classic Pinafore. I wore them at primary school, and when they are teamed with t-shrts for the casual look, a blouse for a special meeting with tights and some nice ankle boots, You suddenly look really put together!
Boohoo had a great option for me to try; which is arriving tomorrow alongside a wine coloured turtle neck shirt so I can look  nice and smart when I see my boyfriend on Tuesday for dinner without looking like a hobo!

Secondly I got treated to an amazing pair of ankle boots from Matt as a little gift from our weekend away at the bank holiday; that made me so happy and although i tried to pay for them myself he ran off with them whilst i was changing shoes! cheeky!
we agreed therefore that these boots are my smart boots, that i look after, polish and wear to occasions with his family and to work :D woo!
I also bought a cute little A line skirt in the sale, whether or not that fits or makes me look hideous is yet to be seen, but it's nice to try something even if i find it's not quite as cute as i first thought; I'm all about channeling the nineties at the moment; with Jennifer Aniston as my inspiration!!!

More to Come soon guys!!!

Health & Happiness

Alongside exciting life events happening.. I am also on another quest of sorts. The quest to lose weight.
I have written many posts about my views on healthy eating changing lifestyles and dieting, and nothing seemed to hold my motivation for long; shakes are dull and have too many limitations, healthy eating and exercise just didn't seem to shift any weight. So i went back to my original tactics that helped me lose weight many years ago for my prom!

As a side note; can i say that I am sharing these with a little bit of discomfort; its hard to look at for me so please don't be too negative.

In the left photo (Dec 2014) I weighed by heaviest at 213lb, however it has been been almost 6 months of relatively clean eating (with some set backs; pizza is a dangerous enemy) and I have gone back to the lifestyle and food plan that helped me in my younger days to shed some pounds; Slimming World.
The photo on the right is what I took about 5 days ago; weighing my lightest at 189lbs! By no means am I done on my journey but it is a large step in the right direction which has made me unbelievably happy.
Clothes are beginning to fit again! I can wear dresses without worrying too much about a bulgy belly and I feel slightly sexier in nice things! Its a work in progress and hopefully i'm going to start running, 2 days a week at first and work my way up in the coming months to spur on my healthy diet.
One of my personal goals when I hit my Stone and a Half award at Slimming world (getting my half a stone this week hopefully!) is that I want to go out and buy some proper jeans! Not Jeggings but Jeans! I find them hideous to wear at the moment and am always wearing tops which are slightly baggy so I'm working on my confidence and then my wardrobe!

Finally, I'm keeping my motivation. Matt goes away for 3 months in the beginning of June and when he comes back I want one of those American sitcom-esque moments where i'm revealed as the ugly duckling into the swan with shiny lights and looking fabulous.
Obviously I know he love me now as I am, and I am not doing this for him, instead I want to start my life in my Twenties completely comfortable with myself and get myself ready for all of the important events that will be happening within this decade and when is a better time than to start now!

If you do want any information about Slimming World please get in touch; I am not an ambassador but I can help with questions about what it is like, what it requires and how to join yourself! Once you make the choice, you understand why you never go back!

Here and Now

A friend of mine suggested writing a letter to myself for exactly how I am now, how i'm feeling and then in a year see how far I've come.

Dear Georgia

It's very odd writing to myself. I'm sure when I look back on this someday I'll laugh at how hopelessly awkward I am, and probably will always be. It's not been a great few days really.

I just found out about Kippy (bit painful to write the whole name tbh)  and It really really sucks. I've always had pride in myself that I never really ever get told no. I remember taking my driving test, failing and then not driving for 6 months because you were so angry at yourself.

And I feel like that now, I hate failing let alone at something that should have been so easy and perfect. Maybe my judgement of character is off.

I don't want to dwell cause i'll just work myself up more to be honest. I start work in an hour and have no energy to go. I just wanna curl up, put on netflix and mope. Instead I'm playing Let it go and singing it at the top of my lungs hoping it'll cheer me up.

Everything is going alright with the love life. Matt's wonderful and brilliant and just being his usual self, despite the fact he's having a harder time than most at the moment. It's frustrating that I can't be more help or can't see him cause we've both kinda spent all our money. whoop.

My overdraft has taken a battering, but I keep reminding myself to breathe and it'll be okay, I'm a student, i' gunna be poor or spend money I don't have, I'm just a  bit gutted I didn't have as much as I thought I did.

The no smoking is going well, though after todays news I really want a cigarette, it'll be curious to see if I manage to prevent myself. I can't guess what the future me is doing by now?

I can't think of what else to say. Not a lot has changed apart from I feel a bit not me at the moment, hopefully I'll fix that after christmas, I'll feel like i have purpose and doing ym course wasn't such a massive mistake. I could re-do my uni years but then again.... is it worth it?

I'm majorly paniccing about my future. I have no idea what I want to do with anything. I'm praying I get an answer soon. That would be nice. It might help me get some sleep, 4 hours a night is not helping me!

Until You read this Future me!

Being back Home

My year at university has come to an end!
For many that would mean mega excitement, a massive holiday and chilling out for summer, sadly for me it means a whole summer of hard work at my childhood pub. Well I say childhood, I started working there when I was sixteen years old! I have three pieces of coursework left to do and voila! I'm finished!

I'm turning the big 2-0 in the next few months which is something to look forward to (or dread,  I haven't quite decided yet) but I've decided to start thinking about things I want to conquer between now and the end of summer, admittedly one big part is working on my savings, so at least when I finish uni I'll be able to get myself sorted, Ive had one of my oldest friends say they'd come and move up to London to live with me, which would be pretty sweet I must admit, but really I need to start considering war my future is going to entail.

I look at some of my third year friends who are leaving university this summer, and they seem to have all elements of their lives sorted out, some are engaged, others have scored internships or their dream jobs. I'm frequently starting to worry that at the ripe old age of 22, I will have no idea what to do!

I've never considered my life plan, my mother always used to tell me to think about marriage and kids etc, my dads always said to work on my career, quite frankly I've never actually considered it for myself and I have a lot of thinking to do!
A lot of it I'll need a lot of forward planning, I'll need a lot of experience so hopefully, when I'm all moved into my new house in July/August it may be time to start thinking about internships or even volunteering at any opportunity I have!

This has really just been a bit of a life report at the moment, my minds a bit of a mess and quite frankly if I forward plan it stops me thinking about at the moment! I get to escape to 'The North' (as it's famously referred to by one of my friends) next week so hopefully I'll get a bit of free time to sit back and consider a few things and hopefully start the summer in a much happier, better mindset.

Till Next Time,

Sunny Days

The weather seems to predetermine the moods of pretty much everyone I know, in fact, if I was a scientist, I'd be spending my time studying the behavioural aspects of a individuals personality in relation to the weather.

I think it plays a big role in my life, all of my fondest memories of last summer were all in the blistering beautiful sunshine! Anyway....

I have been a little bit busy this week, It's almost the end of term and (for me) almost the end of my academic school year. Which is mental, I've officially survived my first year of University! It's been utterly amazing, and I've gained new skills, made some cracking new friends and basically my entire life has improved because of it!

This is mainly a filler post, I wish i could offer some more substance, however it's a beautiful day, I've had a mad weekend and I'm now looking forward to playing my new Sims 3 Supernatural expansion pack!

Hope everyone else in the UK is enjoying the sunshine as much as I am! Remember your lotion and keep smiling; festival season is around the corner!

The Quest for an Internship.

Since a young age I have always looked waaaay into the future! I hate not knowing what comes next, so I had a moment of clarity today in my lecture; I need to find work experience.

It's a common concept that the film industry is incredibly huge, however to be anyone in that industry you need contacts! And how do you make contacts? Internships, work shadowing and other various methods! I want a fast pass, and when i do finish my degree and become a graduate; i would desperately like to have my life just a little bit easier and have a few contacts knocking around I can ask to lend me a hand!

In summer next year; an internship would be amazon, and i want a decent one too, i know they're highly competitive, but whats the harm in trying? You have to reach out fully to grasp what you want in life between two hands and that is exactly what i am going to do!

In other news...
I did it! I've made a debut youtube video, it's only brief and a basic explanation about me as a person, however it's helping me practice editing techniques and thinking much more about both pre and post production ( a valuable skill within my course!). Fingers crossed it'll get some interest; it's currently uploading itself at the speed of one snail per hour but when it has uploaded, I'll link it in and you guys are more than welcome to have a gander and meet the girl behind this blog.

Hope everyone is keeping well!
