The Slimming Sensation

A few posts ago, which sadly was around a month or so ago i stated about rejoining slimming world and I thought it would be appropriate to actually give you a bit of an update.

I haven't had to change what i eat per say, my main meals have always been reasonably a smart choice. However I have had to make changes to portions and my little treats. For those of you ho are genuinely quite curious about my day to day activity with this, feel free to check out my slimming world IG: @hellogeegsw

In short it's going really well, I started around 7/8 weeks ago and have lost & kept off 9 lbs. TO some that doesn't sound a lot but for me i'm currently weighing the least that I have in about 3/4 years! overall a big success.

This week i'm struggling more than usual due to my reliance of comfort eating when i'm emotionally a bit stretched. Matt has gone off to america and suddenly not texting someone allay has left a bit of a void which i am adamantly trying to not fill with crisps and chocolate (crisps are more my downfall than chocolate)
Admittedly my reason for this post is to try and distract myself from snacking, something that is really hard when everyone around you is eating such delightfully nice smelling foods and often leaves me completely ravenous!

I just thought a small update about that would make up for my lack of posting! I'm about to start training for my first ever 10k so please hit the Just giving box on my blog page to help em hit my £250 target!

Much Love.

Health & Happiness

Alongside exciting life events happening.. I am also on another quest of sorts. The quest to lose weight.
I have written many posts about my views on healthy eating changing lifestyles and dieting, and nothing seemed to hold my motivation for long; shakes are dull and have too many limitations, healthy eating and exercise just didn't seem to shift any weight. So i went back to my original tactics that helped me lose weight many years ago for my prom!

As a side note; can i say that I am sharing these with a little bit of discomfort; its hard to look at for me so please don't be too negative.

In the left photo (Dec 2014) I weighed by heaviest at 213lb, however it has been been almost 6 months of relatively clean eating (with some set backs; pizza is a dangerous enemy) and I have gone back to the lifestyle and food plan that helped me in my younger days to shed some pounds; Slimming World.
The photo on the right is what I took about 5 days ago; weighing my lightest at 189lbs! By no means am I done on my journey but it is a large step in the right direction which has made me unbelievably happy.
Clothes are beginning to fit again! I can wear dresses without worrying too much about a bulgy belly and I feel slightly sexier in nice things! Its a work in progress and hopefully i'm going to start running, 2 days a week at first and work my way up in the coming months to spur on my healthy diet.
One of my personal goals when I hit my Stone and a Half award at Slimming world (getting my half a stone this week hopefully!) is that I want to go out and buy some proper jeans! Not Jeggings but Jeans! I find them hideous to wear at the moment and am always wearing tops which are slightly baggy so I'm working on my confidence and then my wardrobe!

Finally, I'm keeping my motivation. Matt goes away for 3 months in the beginning of June and when he comes back I want one of those American sitcom-esque moments where i'm revealed as the ugly duckling into the swan with shiny lights and looking fabulous.
Obviously I know he love me now as I am, and I am not doing this for him, instead I want to start my life in my Twenties completely comfortable with myself and get myself ready for all of the important events that will be happening within this decade and when is a better time than to start now!

If you do want any information about Slimming World please get in touch; I am not an ambassador but I can help with questions about what it is like, what it requires and how to join yourself! Once you make the choice, you understand why you never go back!

Absence and Explanation!

Hello!

I should really hide away because I have been gone for so long, if anyone still regularly checks this blog then i salute you for you valiance!
Its been the longest few months known to man and SO much has changed that I don't even know where to start.
The big big news will come in an entirely differ post as it closely relates to a previous blog post of mine & i believe its a real milestone!
HOWEVER!
I have concluded my second year of university! All of my assignments have been due the last few weeks and quite frankly I have become a hermit of a woman, 12,000 words and two short features later and I am just about breathing!!!! I'll be sharing one of them with you very shortly once i've updated and caught up with life!

I went back to Thorpe Park at the weekend, with Matt & my two housemates; it was such a thrill, i realised i can actually scream louder and faster than 80mph, i'm fairly certain there was a poor dog somehwhere that heard that shriek and hid away! If you don't believe me here is proof!!!
As you can see... Matt really enjoyed it.. I did not.

Back on topic, I have also signed up to run 10k for the Run to the Beat race on behalf of the British Heart Foundation!!!  To even run I need to have raised £250 pounds and so far I have only raised £30! I could really do with a little boost, so if anyone anywhere could spare even a few pounds I would be more than grateful!

In fact I'll promise to update more starting with the really big news  which I'm sure you are all dying to hear about!

Keep an Eye out!

Two Thousand and Fifteen.

Hello!
Apologies about my lack of absent in writing gone this blog, the end of 2014 was extremely busy for me, and i sort of lost my interest in writing!
However as I'm currently sat in my university's library with an hour to kill before an exciting meeting I thought now would be appropriate to share my latest adventures and a quick recap on where I am at in my life!

Just before Christmas hit it off, my lovely friends had their first child and Isabella Faith is the most beautiful little girl I have ever had the fortune to meet! I got to bring her home from the hospital and got first dibs on loads of cuddles!

Christmas was incredibly exciting. I spent my first year away from home and spent it with the OH's family. It was absolutely spectacular, despite some teething issues! I got a little teary on christmas eve due to no being at home with my dad which is what I am completely used to! However this was completely overridden by my busy christmas day!
We woke up and had presents in Matt's mums bedroom and I was treated like a little queen, I had quite a humble christmas, so it was a bit more about quality over quantity.

I got a lovely harness set which sadly had to be sent back because of my abnormally large arse which propelled me into my strongest new year resolution (I'll mention it more later!) I got a lovely faux fur headband, a pretty new 'going out' clutch bag, a new diary (stationary<3) and then other little bits and pieces including a very comfy new beanie!

Practicality of gifts is a big thing for me. Don't get me wrong, I love a bit of glitz and glam in my life, but having things I can wear is a big pro for me because i'm extremely stingy in buying clothes for myself because I feel like they are a waste of money until my current clothes turn to rags!

Christmas morning included a church visit, something I have not done since I was a young girl, and even then it was midnight mass of Christmas Eve! However with some puppets (don't ask) and mixed with Matts Mum having to disappear because she left sausages in the oven was a particular highlight!
Afterwards around 30 people arrived at the house for champagne and nibbles! I still haven't quite got over that overwhelming feeling of being surrounded by what felt like a billion women all asking the same question of
Who're you? Oh Matthews Girlfriend, what do you do? Oh university... what are you studying?
I have that answer perfected just in case you wanted to know!

Boxing day was so much more chilled, the drinks flowed, a spectacular post christmas lunch followed with a hilarious evening of games where I finally managed to cover some ground with people who were so hospitable and lovely!

I WENT TO THE HARRY POTTER STUDIO'S.
It was amazing, if you advent been and consider yourself a potter-head you need to get yo' ass to Leavesden. Although not overwhelming the beginning and final part of the tour are beyond anything I have ever seen in my life with such high emotional connections!

I also went to see the Rugby for the first time in my life and I cannot wait until I can next go! Although I was initially very confused about how it worked, after a nice explanation from Matt, I found myself on the edge of my seat feeling the adrenaline rushing through me joining in with the groans and shouts at the game! Definitely something i want to do more in the future.

This led firmly onto New Year. New Year in my hometown is a spectacular affair! Everyone dresses up in Fancy Dress and although I left it a bit late this year, Army girl struck a high chord and I had such a fabulous night and New Years Day with my dad preparing the best meal ever!!!!

However the festivities left and I decided that it is now time to change my lifestyle, I have been saying for year that I want to lose weight, and I have firmly held onto that idea this year, Joined a gym, kept up with going 3 times a week for the last month and fully intend on continuing! Sweating is almost addictive!
My aim goal is to hit a stone by march; easy to do hopefully! Then another stone before I debark on my adventure in the US.
If I haven't already mentioned it, I will be working across the pond from June to August with a months travelling afterwards. Matt is also joining me in the states but either way It's going to be so so exciting!!!! I need to start preparing so if anyone has any hints or tips please let me know as I have never travelled on a plane for longer than 5 hours before!

Although this has been  brief catch up I am going to try and do a weekly catchup! In the mean time if you wish to follow my weightless journey, go ahead to www.hellohealthygeeg.wordpress.com.

Lots of Love & Happy New Year you lovely people!

Why the Internet is potentially a dangerous thing

I like the internet, its expressive, weirdly wonderful and can sustain boredom no matter where you are around the globe. But it is useless thinking this could relate to a better kind of human being. I try to remain reserved in my opinions of news articles (specifically on the web), however some artless go a bit too far.

Return of Kings, 2014

THIS came up on my news feed this morning on Facebook after one of my friends shared it in outrage that it even exists. And I agree.

An eating disorder is not something to laugh at, it is not something to use against another human being, it most definitely is not a defining factor of a relationship and if you agree with anything that article says then you most definitely deserve to rot.

I have had friends with eating disorders, luckily enough I have never suffered from the illness myself.  However this article makes my skin crawl. One of the '5 reasons' is suggesting that when a woman is feeling vulnerable THAT IS A GOOD THING.

I can't even outline how pissed this article made me. With all of the positive response after Emma Watsons #HeforShe campaign, I'd have thought the waves of feminism was defining a new chapter for the human race. However this article has only proved to me how wrong I am.

Finally, the last defining part of this article is the other publications this author has covered...
Many of those publications are all for the gender equality, so why they have supported this mysogynistic arse is beyond me... and possible something that needs to be addressed?

Not only this article, but Return of King's seems to be an amalgamation of high and mighty men who still believe women are beneath them? I can only hope this website is made of satirical (yet still badly written) content however some of these articles have me second guessing myself...

And my personal favourite and an article I have already mentioned...

What scares me is the heaps of comments of people who agree with this, men from around the world seem to be using these misleading and bollock's filled articles to support casual sexism.

Spread this blog post, around the internet and make these people realise that what they are publicising is wrong! This needs attention as quite frankly these articles are no different to a hate crime in my eyes!

October Fest!

Hello hello Hello!

September has passed on which means I have been twenty for an entire month.. something that worries me because that means time has passed way to quick! This isn't just a usual post, instead it is going to be my October Haul Fest (so far!).

September & October are my two favourite months of the year, autumn colours come back into fashion & quite frankly I can justify wearing a cardigan anywhere. With Gold, Red and eve some cool pastels looking on point for this season, i couldn't help but start gathering my lovely winter clothes!

Winter is all about the smell of apple and cinnamon, mulled cider, roast dinners, snuggled up evenings and beautiful two toned leaves sweeping the country. These golds, browns and auburns are always the base of my wardrobe and often my make up bag. As a natural brunette with hazel eyes, the colours bring out the best in me!

Items (In order Left to Right!)

1. GAP Two Tone Waffle Snood £6.99 SALE
I live in snoods in winter! They go well when your having a lazy day, are a constant source of heat and genuine look very chic. I chose the black and grey mainly because it will go with more of my wardrobe and is a fundamental of my winter/spring wardrobe!
2. ANIMAL Estel Knitted Cardigan £55.00 Student Discount.
I couldn't resist! in fact this cardigan is what I am wearing as I type this. It's soft, snug and honestly? I know £60 is a lot of money for a cardigan but its so perfect! The colours are absolutely incredible comforting and the size of the cardigan (i have a medium) is just that bit baggier so its comfy!
3.NEXT Floral Dress. £24
The floral theme has stuck around for the entirety of 2014 and I don't think it is going anywhere! The texture of this dress is slightly bumpy, and the skater skirt is so flattering, especially for someone who is a bit body conscious like me! I like the versatility of this dress. It could be dressed up, dressed down. Worn to lunch or an interview. To me, It is a closet staple!
4.NEXT Berry Jeans. £20
Until my most recent attempt at weight loss, I hated jeans. they dug in, they cling to all of the wrong place and always rested on that horrendous muffin top. Since slimming down (7lbs! Woo!) I found these beauties today. The colour is warm, the material is soft unlike other coarse jeans. And they fit!!!!! Literally could not be happier with them! Using coloured jeans is a nice way to shake up an outfit, and also gets you to hunk about apply patterns to it!
5.ANIMAL Alouet Backpack £20 Student Discount
Every backpack I have had since the start of secondary school (Almost a scary ten years ago!) has been from Animal! They are sturdy, trustworthy, fashionable AND come with a two year guarantee! Need I say more?
6. APPLE 13" Macbook Pro with Retina Display, Upgraded Processor & RAM. £997 Student Discount.
Okkkk. Maybe this isn't what I buy myself every month, however as I sit here typing away on my gorgeous machine, I regret nothing. It is sleek, soft, pretty and weightless. The retina display literally makes it for me and I genuinely love it. Like I would a human child. Apple offer amazing student discount for education, hence the amazing price of this laptop. Maybe Apple isn't everyones cup of tea, and maybe UPS shipping is a pain in the arse, but once you go MAC you never go back. (hehe.)
7.ANIMAL Nevada Boots £40 Student Discount
They are like Uggs crossed with Vans. Vuggs.... Uans. Chose the hybridisation which you find most fun and realise that these shoes are why winter was created. Be fluffy, be stylish and comfy! AND A GREAT PRICE.

So thats it for now, I'm planning on updating my make up bag within the next month, so maybe Novembers Haul Collage will be filled with lovely makeup surprises! Wish me luck & I hope everyone has an amazing month! HAPPY OCTOBER!

New Blog!

Hello everyone!

With a happy mood comes happy news; I am now a team leader at Sealife Centre (you'll find me crowding with the otters!) as well as a student mentor for next year! All of this has come at such a good time that I have decided to get my life in order, to start aiming to do the things I've wanted to do for years!

One of my biggest personality flaws is motivation, I can be a motivator to people but am my own worst enemy at getting things done. So I have set up myself a secondary blog which is completely surrounding my health & weight loss.

I thought it would save you poor souls from hearing me whinge about having a fat day or feeling rubbish about myself so I can formally use this blog to update on my own private project!

so without further ado; www.healthyhappinesshour.blogspot.co.uk is the place to be to follow my journey!

apart from that guys, I'm glad to see my page views continually rising and that makes me ever so happy & feel more productive!!!

Lots of love

Tremadog; the naked climbing facility!

For anyone who is into rock climbing indoors or outdoors then they'll probably be aware of some of the great climbing adventures which are available in the uk.
I've mentioned before that I am part of Bums (Brunels Mountaineering society) and I'm going to be the Vice President next university year!
Speaking of which, I have just spent my bank holiday climbing in the drizzly(and occasionally sunshiny) depths of North Wales in the little town of Tremadog. (Pronounced tramadok; cheers to the welsh language!)
I'm still relatively a baby in terms of climbing, however this weekend I did my first ever Trad climb and loved every bloody minute of it! Admittedly it wasn't very hard, only a rating of a DIF, but it was absolutely amazing.

I may have also of got relatively undressed on top of one of the climbs and embraced nature as it should be embraced.... In my birthday suit.

In other news, I have got the job as a student mentor next year at Uni, something I am super excited about!!! It pays amazing and fits around MY hours at Uni so overall is a massive bonus.
In my last post I mentioned my slight unhappiness at my current childhood workplace at the moment, however there has been progress! I have had an interview for Weymouth Sealife Centre something which I am super excited about overall!!!

Although this is a short post, I am currently on my break as part of my treacherous twelve close and thankfully the half term weather is shocking and therefore I get a looooong break!!

I'll be doing a proper post soon, Bout something relatively exciting (maybe) so keep your eyes open & happy (almost) June people!!!

Change

Hello Hello Hello!

It's been a while since I last updated, and hopefully this post will do it's best to explain why i've been quite so'tardy to the party' (cheers RHOBH!!!!).

Since I last blogged, I let you all know that I was staying at the OH's which is still true, going lovely and all that jazz. He puts up with my grumps & I put up with his distinctive piggish behaviour on occasion.

However there have been a few changes! My cousin Samantha Birch (T: @sambirchwriter) has released a book! The High Street Bridge's Guide is an absolute little cracker. Although I'm not planning on getting married any time soon being at the ripe old age of nineteen, non-biased family relative aside this is a really good read, It 'flows' as such and isn't completely overwhelming unlike other wedding guide literature often is.

I've also become a member or the JuicePlus+ gang! That's right, I've sold out & put myself on a surprisingly alright diet! For those of you who are unaware, The Juiceplus craze is sweeping the country with people signing up with a desperate bid to lose weight! It can be taken in several different formats (chewable tablets or shakes as the most common) and I chose the Shakes!
Before you start the actual shakes, you need to take a ten day detox, which is something I really struggled with, however once the shakes arrived it wasn't too bad. You drink two shakes a day and then one 'clean' meal in the evening.

I have quite a busy schedule, and unsociable eating hours at my workplace, however the shakes are filling and do make me feel full for a few hours before my nice healthy dinner. In terms of effect, I haven't noticed a considerable weight loss yet, hover I have noticed a few inches coming off my waist and my stomach isn't as bloated any more!

It's a bit dear, at £32.50 a month for 4 months or a one of payment but I can't complain, it's helping me make some better choices and I feel better in myself!.

I have entered a competition! Wateraid are looking for a blogger at Glastonbury this year! It's a long shot, where all I had to make was a quick 15 second instagram vid, however I'd love it if you guys would check it out, 5 people will be shortlisted with the fifth being voted in by the amount of views it receives on the internet! thats you lovely people!

Fourth and final change is that I am looking for a new job! The sad moment has finally happened where I am sick and tired of my life at the pub and all the  hassle that comes with it.  So I'm trying to find a small summer job to last me until August, a few hours a week and nice and easy.

SO.

That is the change occurring in my life at the moment! I'll try and get back to regular blogging :)

Twitter support!

My blog is still relatively new and I'm not really expecting anything to happen with this blog, I'm not expecting overnight fame, I'm actually quite a private person ( ha I know most of you are rolling your eyes at that) a blogger private? Never!!

Anyway I'm quite tired of the negativity which is surrounding social media at the moment and this has been something that has frequently been happening on my twitter feed.

These people whoever they are have really made my day! They have broadened my little radar and I now have hundreds of people around the globe taking quick I looks into my life.

I'd like to get to know some of you, never feel like you can't talk to me :) surprisingly I can be rather friendly!

Being back Home

My year at university has come to an end!
For many that would mean mega excitement, a massive holiday and chilling out for summer, sadly for me it means a whole summer of hard work at my childhood pub. Well I say childhood, I started working there when I was sixteen years old! I have three pieces of coursework left to do and voila! I'm finished!

I'm turning the big 2-0 in the next few months which is something to look forward to (or dread,  I haven't quite decided yet) but I've decided to start thinking about things I want to conquer between now and the end of summer, admittedly one big part is working on my savings, so at least when I finish uni I'll be able to get myself sorted, Ive had one of my oldest friends say they'd come and move up to London to live with me, which would be pretty sweet I must admit, but really I need to start considering war my future is going to entail.

I look at some of my third year friends who are leaving university this summer, and they seem to have all elements of their lives sorted out, some are engaged, others have scored internships or their dream jobs. I'm frequently starting to worry that at the ripe old age of 22, I will have no idea what to do!

I've never considered my life plan, my mother always used to tell me to think about marriage and kids etc, my dads always said to work on my career, quite frankly I've never actually considered it for myself and I have a lot of thinking to do!
A lot of it I'll need a lot of forward planning, I'll need a lot of experience so hopefully, when I'm all moved into my new house in July/August it may be time to start thinking about internships or even volunteering at any opportunity I have!

This has really just been a bit of a life report at the moment, my minds a bit of a mess and quite frankly if I forward plan it stops me thinking about at the moment! I get to escape to 'The North' (as it's famously referred to by one of my friends) next week so hopefully I'll get a bit of free time to sit back and consider a few things and hopefully start the summer in a much happier, better mindset.

Till Next Time,

G x

Keep An Eye On: MYFLASHTRASH

It's quite rare these days to find a website where everyone you know isn't buying from it. It saves risky matching outfits and specifically jewellery. I love bracelets, they have always been my thing! However, as I have got older, I've noticed that it is becoming increasingly difficult to find anything unique or fancy without a OTT price tag OR completely general with every other high street shop.

I thought I'd share my knowledge with you; My Flash Trash

This website has been an utter life saver, I hate shopping, especially now I live in London! The thought of going anywhere busy makes me shudder let alone to shop admits hunger mad fashion icons and about 100 girls who are skinnier than I am!

However, I digress...

These are just some of my favourite which have just been added to the New In section.

Gold Spoon Earrings: £12.00
These are utterly adorable, A little quirky yet still register an elegant feel! I've currently got these on delivery so I am super excited!

Star Sign Midi Ring: £12.00
I've fallen in love with midi rings! They suit elegant smaller finger, which are possibly one of my only defining features (despite my love for biting my nails!) These come in all star signs and at £12 I know it's a bit of a splurge, but it is on something personal!

Pug Diamante Iphone Case £15.00
This is such a guilty pleasure for me! I can't help but love iPhone cases, but since ebay only seems to offer ridiculously generic ones these days I am more than happy to fork out an extra few quid for one which is extra special. And I love pugs! (Hazard Bizarre PICK!)

Finally...

Pink Coco's tea Party bracelet. £15.00
I know! expensive for a bracelet! However, it is currently on a BOGOF deal! Which makes it awesome value when hunting for xmas or birthday presents! They come in all sorts of colours so have a root around!

I hope this has introduced you to a new kind of shopping! Happy shopping guys!

NekNominateFlappyWhat?

I'm fairly safe to say that the world is now built around the internet. Nothing is left unturned and every single day a new craze begins. My childhood consisted of scoobydoo's, pokemon cars and god forbid an hour on my gameboy a night!

A prime example of times ch-ch-ch-changinnnng (thanks bowie!) includes the madness that I encountered during one of my visits to a restaurant the other day. Can I clarify now that I am not a weird technophobe! I own just about every gameboy and apple product known to man and I just love my time alone locked away from the sun! HOWEVER, i witnessed a family of four sat around a table, all of which practically connected to their mobile devices/tablets. The mother and father looked like drones, tapping idly away, she'd most likely looking at other men on tindr, whilst the man is watching the sky sport updates like a hawk obsessed!
What struck me was the children, they must have only been around 5/6, and at what should be a magical happy brilliant time of their life, making memories with their family, instead they were glued to the screen of a tablet watching spongebob

It makes me sad that our lives are slowly divulging into media madness! Which leads me on to two topics which have RAISED HAVOC amongst the internet community.

Facebook is currently covered in video's, since Vine encouraged more people to video themselves, suddenly everyone is no longer camera shy! However, this has turned out to be a blessing and curse. Our maytes (sorry i am really shocking at accents;)) down under have started a craze of getting a pint glass, filling it with unimaginably stupid things and following the traditional teenage demand of 'downing it'.
I have watched and also partaken in this activity... and I have seen some horrors! The saddest of it all is that actually several people have died. However, this then opened a minefield of parental madness! They have swarmed our deeply hidden Facebook walls and are now going hellbent on stopping NEKNOMINATIONS from happening. Although justified, I have some issues.

After reading the articles... I have a few issues.

1) These people drank stupid amount of alcohol, intact some mixed poisonous substances in with their drinks.
2) They all went out afterwards, undoubtedly drinking much much more.
3) There are no rules to NekNominate, In fact, nothing states that you have to drink any alcohol at all!

I know, with all this being said, I am sorry to hear about the death of these individuals but it all comes down the case of that they had a choice. I've had friends drink AWFUL amounts of alcohol, I have also had friends that have drank merely a pint of water! The decision of what to drink is the individuals fault and therefore their responsibility! Which is why it has angered me that various people have taken to the web and began brandishing all teenagers idiots when I am fairly sure that most adults have drank a lot more and a lot worse on a night out as kids themselves.
I'm probably going to make a youtube video about this for the record!

That leads me on to the final part of internet madness this week!

Anyone know of this little guy?

If you don't then you have probably been living under a rock!

This game has released bedlam within app markets and could actually be known as one of the most addictive games of all time...

sorry i got distracted...

Despite its rubbish graphics and frankly most mundane game plot ever, Flappy Bird caused a storm when it went viral and nearly everyone was playing this game! However, it has been removed by its maker due to the trouble it also caused!

My favourite part about this game is that since being removed, an iPhone still containing it makes a gold mine, on Ebay, an iPhone with the game still installed sold for £50,000 today! oh you humans! you make me so proud!

Until Next time, Stay safe, avoid rubbish games and for god sakes put your phone down once in a while ;)

Late night thoughts (and why they are so good)

I love lying in bed in the early hours trying to fall asleep desperately however.... My brain just paused and asked...

Do bee's have a penis?

Can you even imagine! My poor old mind tank just explodes with questions that i'd never think about in the light of day!

Isnt it the best? So go on! I want to hear about the silly questions you ask yourself in the night!

MERRY BLOGMAS

Tis the season to be jolly.... fa la la la la! la la la la!

Or in the majority of peoples cases, time to find your bank account utterly pillaged and thinking to yourself ; WHY DIDNT I START EARLIER?

It's true. The run up to Christmas is by far one of the most expensive, stressful and utterly tiring times of the year, especially when it is all for one day! Also, sadly enough i am starting to become the age where I can demand very expensive items because i know the exact value of money these days; plus there is a whole new generation of my family who now get their time to be spoilt.
The presents above (minus a couple left to buy) are the only people i am buying for this year! they are all wrapped, with names & all i need to do now is manage to get them to the individuals safely!

HOWEVER

As it is a giving time of year, and i'm super organised, I'd hate to think anyone who comes across this blog is struggling to think of what to buy people, so i've come up with a few suggestions for the classic stereotypes of people you need to buy for.

Mum & Dad
I'm unfortunate enough that my parents split when i was little, therefore step-parents are involved in my share of christmas shopping, however the easiest thing to do with parents is to simply ask what they want! I know! Crazy right? Honestly though, I've done that this year, we agreed on a budget and now my parents won't be disappointed! Its a simple one!

Nana & Gramps
Ha! Personally, I love the idea of making something for grandparents, even if its just a lovely home made xmas card and then a tub of their favourite biscuits! However, Next do some cracking more adult gifts which will keep the elders of the family tree happy!

The Annoyances & Brats
ha! I mean the siblings. Depending on age, younger siblings often know exactly what they want and are often predictable, however older siblings are an issue, to avoid having to do some last minute snooping : Firebox is a cracking website! It holds all ranges of weird and wacky presents which are not only fun, but also show a bit of thought has been put into them!

Friends & Partners
Growing up for me included spending money on friends for christmas, and even in my flat this year we are all scrounging enough together to do a Secret Santa  so that nobody is left out for christmas!!! However, for the 'special' ones, whether thats partner, husband, wife, or just your good old bestie one lovely website i came across is Not On the Highstreet, it is albeit a little pricey but is perfect for personalised gifts, i bought one of my friends a QR code key ring, the service is brilliant and perfect for those special someones.

So don't let the shopping get you down, just focus on the one day of the year in front of the tellie with your family!
